Memberships

Student Membership

All young people aged between 8 and 18 years enrolled in the Theatre School are Student Members of Young People’s Theatre.  Student members may audition for productions if they meet the eligibility criteria set by the Director.  Eligibility is determined by the student’s age, experience, appropriate theatre class behaviour and involvement in recent productions.

YPT is proud of its former student members who have remained committed to the entertainment industry.

Associate Membership

Senior students who have attended Theatre School classes over a period of years may apply for Associate Membership when they are in Years 11/12.  Applications for Associate Membership are lodged with the Principal of the Theatre School and are awarded at the Principal’s discretion.  Associate Members may be eligible to audition for YPT productions.

Adult Membership

Adults subscribing to the objectives of the organisation and having submitted their name to the Executive for consideration shall be granted membership on payment of the prescribed fee.  Parents/carers are encouraged to become adult members of YPT.

YPT is an incorporated body administered by a committee elected by the adult members at the Annual General Meetings.  Adult members meet in the Theatre at 7.00 pm on the third Tuesday of each month.  Adult Members may be invited by the Director to audition for productions.

Lindsay Street Players (LSP)

The Lindsay Street Players is a group formed under the umbrella of YPT. LSP caters for adult members who are still keen to participate in productions at YPT.  Productions will include selections suited to a more mature audience than our general repertoire offers.  To become an LSP member, you first need to be an adult member of YPT.

Life Memberships

Life Memberships are bestowed on members and friends of Young People’s Theatre Inc. who have demonstrated an extraordinary contribution to the development or betterment of the theatre over a long period of time, often a whole lifetime.  These people are the foundations of Young People’s Theatre as we know it today and we continue to acknowledge their contribution and thank them for being so giving of their time and generosity.

Patrons

Patrons for each year are confirmed at the Annual General Meeting in March.
