Season: Monday 26 September to Saturday 26 November 2011

Synopsis: Honk, a adaptation of the Hans Christian Anderson story, The Ugly Duckling, features Ugly, a duckling rejcted by everyone but Ida, his mother; a sly tomcat  who wants to eat Ugly; and other barnyard creatures.  Soon after he is born, the wily Cat tricks Ugly into leaving with him. When he escapes from the Cat he has no idea how to return home.  As he tries to find his home Ugly encounters a beautiful swan, Penny, tangled in a fishing line.  Ugly saves her and the two fall in love but Penny must return to her flock and fly south for the winter.  Eventually when Ugly’s mother finds him frozen in the snow her tears thaw him out and he comes back to life as a handsome swan. Ugly is reunited with Penny and the two swans decide to live in the same pool as Ugly’s mother.

Honk, which incorporates a message of tolerance, is aimed at children and their parents.
