Think Beyond Snr Drama Yrs 11–12: Performance Ensemble
The Ensemble will develop a performance during class time that will be staged at the end of the year for a weekend season. Audition prep, auditions and rehearsals happen in class time with minimal commitment outside of class, closer to the performance date. Develop skills and understanding required to create a high-quality production.

Think Beyond Yrs 11–12: Snr Musical Industry Pathways
Recommended for students interested in pursuing a career in the arts, teaching, tutoring and/or support for HSC performance skills.
Students will study Musical Theatre especially the disciplines of dance and singing. Students will strengthen their skills and techniques in Jazz, Ballet and Tap as well as learn to pick-up choreography quickly through audition preparation. Students will increase their vocal potential and build their personal repertoire through vocal technique and audition preparation.
Students will learn how to behave in a professional rehearsal space; build awareness of industry standards; plus, learn methods and techniques aimed to strengthen our students individual performance such as audition preparation and health and wellness as performers. Students will also build their practical toolkits with lessons in Music Theory and tips of writing performance resumes.

YPT offers extension classes to currently enrolled drama students to further develop their skills, confidence and understanding in other areas of the performing arts.
Students in years 2–10 must enrol in a Drama class before they can access the extension class program. Drama provides the foundational skills for all our classes.
Year 11, 12 and 13 students are able to choose either Think Beyond Drama or Think Beyond Musical Theatre. Following enrolment in a Think Beyond Course they can access Extension Classes applicable to their Year group.

Behind the Scenes Yrs 7–12
New in Term 1 2021 for secondary students! A two-term Directing unit, covering everything from finding a script, building a concept, pitching & casting to managing teams and scheduling. Term 3 and beyond will focus on a different element of theatre production providing opportunities to explore all facets of theatre production over time.

Dance Yr 6–7
A fun, active class developing coordination and dance skills and confidence to audition for Musical productions. Learn a variety of dance disciplines with a focus on Jazz and Tap. Build and strengthen via Jazz; develop Rhythm and Musicality through Tap; learn choreography quickly and add character to dance.

Jazz Advanced Yrs 8–12
Enrolment for current Advanced Jazz Students OR by Expression of Interest OR invitation.
Level 2 Advanced Jazz class. Develop advanced dance techniques; expand skills and confidence to dance in Musical Productions; experience more complex techniques and characterisation; quickly learn choreography.

Tap Yrs 7–12 (Level 1 and 2)
Level 1 (Thurs) focuses on breaking down tap steps and being able to perform confidently in a routine. Level 2 Tap (Tues) is a faster pace class. Recommended for the development of skills in rhythm, musicality and dance technique. Learn basic to challenging tap combos; terminology; tap patterns and tap styles. An active class building confidence and stamina in a fun, engaging, supportive environment.

Sing-Act-Move Minis Yr 2–3
A perfect, energetic intro for students interested in exploring fundamentals of singing, dance and storytelling. Active, engaging, fun and supportive. Musical Theatre Yrs 5–12
Develop skills in singing, dancing and acting and explore dynamic numbers from your favourite musicals in a high energy class. An ensemble-based program recommended for students who wish to challenge themselves in a supportive environment while learning how to tell stories via voice, movement and characterisation.

Singing (Individual Lessons)
Beginners to advanced. High-quality 30 min weekly lessons taught by qualified and experienced teachers. After understanding students’ goals, teachers create individualised lessons to strengthen singing techniques, build performance confidence and develop a personal repertoire. Option to sit formal singing exams.
Private singing lessons current availability – Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
