Young People’s Theatre COVID Procedures – 2022

YPT will implement the following COVID Safety Procedures effective February 1, 2022 until further notice.

Entry Requirements

  • Please do not attend any YPT venues if experiencing any symptoms that may be related to COVID-19. (https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/stay-safe/testing/symptoms)
  • YPT requires that all adult persons entering the YPT venues utilise the QR codes found at our entrance doors or on the Lanyards worn by Tutors, Directing Teams and Supervisors
  • In line with current government restrictions all persons over the age of 12 are required to wear a mask at YPT venues and events

Entry Restrictions

  • Parents and caregivers are not permitted to enter the YPT building or HSPA grounds for drop off and pick up of students
  • One parent/caregiver at a time may enter YPT to complete a T-shirt pick up or office enquiry
  • Volunteers may attend YPT rehearsals and working bees as per their commitment to productions

Masks

  • All persons over the age of 12 are required to wear masks at YPT venues and events
  • All YPT students (of all ages) are encouraged to wear well fitted masks
  • All Singing students (private and small group) are required to wear a mask during lessons

Rooms, Ventilation and Distancing

  • YPT will maintain well ventilated spaces for all activities
  • Class numbers have been capped to enable appropriate spacing
  • Small group singing lessons will not be held in the spaces reserved for private tuition (lessons will be held in larger rooms and students will be well spaced)
  • All YPT Tutors have been instructed to avoid high contact activities in classes
  • YPT encourages social distancing in around YPT venues (including pick up and drop off times)

Positive Cases at YPT

  • If any YPT Staff, Students or Volunteers test positive for COVID-19 after attending a YPT venue or event they should notify YPT via school@ypt.org.au immediately
  • YPT will inform any persons who may have come in contact with a positive case at YPT venues or events promptly
  • YPT classes and events do not pose a “close contact” risk under current guidelines
  • Please follow government guidelines regarding isolation

Hygiene

  • All persons are required to sanitise on entry to YPT venues and events
  • Class Tutors and Directing Teams will ensure that students and cast members sanitise before, during and after class
  • All high touch point surfaces will be cleaned with disinfectant before and after classes and rehearsals
  • Regular cleaning is completed at all YPT venues by external contractors
  • Any props or tools utilised in YPT classes and rehearsals will be sanitised after use
