Theatre Manager

Evan Booth
Theatre School Coordinator
Evan began Young Peoples Theatre Drama classes in 1991 and has had a passion and enjoyment for the Performing Arts ever since. He has loved performing in YPT productions, being a tutor for classes and director and musical director for productions over the years.
It has been the satisfaction of watching students learn and excel in performing arts that has led Evan to join the YPT theatre school as a coordinator to foster the talents of our younger generation and bring the skills and knowledge he has to the team.
Evan has also worked for the Department of Education for the past 17 years and brings teaching skills and expertise to share with current YPT tutors.
His involvement in YPT has brought friendship, family and colleagues together in an environment that fosters collaboration and creativity.

Claire Thomas
Theatre School Coordinator
Claire is a qualified primary school teacher with a focus on the arts and has been involved with Young Peoples Theatre since 1991. She started out as a year 5 student and tutored classes as a young adult, before becoming the principal of the theatre school.
As the principal of the theatre school, Claire is striving to maintain the fantastic foundations that have been laid by those before her, as well as bringing new programs in to keep YPT a fresh and contemporary place. She stands by our motto: theatre for young people, by young people.
As well as acting and makeup design, Claire has also taken on other roles at the theatre such as front of house, canteen, choreography, backstage crew, stage manager, set painter and director.
Claire has definitely come a long way since the little girl running around on stage in a squirrel costume and she attributes this to everyone at YPT, her mentors, her colleagues, her students, her parents and her friends.
