Picnic at Hanging Rock

Picnic at Hanging Rock has haunted the Australian psyche for over a century and is a story that defies explanation.

On a summer’s day in 1900, a group of Australian girls visit the Hanging Rock for a school picnic. Four of the girls and a teacher wander off to explore the beckoning rock- only one returns, scared, incoherent and apparently with no memory of what occurred.

This production, directed by Riley McLean and Rylee O’Rourke and assistant directed by Larissa Barwell and Rory Worthington, is a compelling combination of traditional and contemporary, exploring classical themes through modern theatricality.
