Kid’s Quotes: You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown

We invited 5 students to attend our final dress rehearsal of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and participate in our Kid’s Quotes review blog. Read what they had to say about the show and why you should come too!
What happens in the show?
Liam: The show is about a group of of kids and talks about their daily life. All the characters want something but they realise they can’y get or gain it. Everyone says Charlie Brown is a good man, but he doesn’t know why.
Olivia: You’re a Good Man Charlie is a hilarious and outstanding musical that dives into the different worlds of the characters and shows their perspectives and perceptions of the things happening around them.
Tess: You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a historical musical that follows a boy who struggles to connect to other children. It additionally delves into the lives of his peers as they experience their own struggles and hardships while also shows the hopeful aspects of life.
Leila: You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a super funny show with amazing songs about what happens in the life of Charlie Brown and his friends.
Maya: The story follows Charlie Brown and all the problems he encounters. There are also small side stories following the other characters as well. We navigate through the problems of each character and watch how they fix them in the end.
What did you like best about the performance?
Liam: The energy the cast put on the stage and the joy coming from them. Their animated movement, and the singing and is very catchy and happy.
Olivia: The performance easily puts a smile on your faced shows us the true meaning of harness and it’s really a sweet and wholesome show.
Tess: My favourite element of the musical is the high energy of every member of the cast through their incredible physical comedy as well as their intriguing take on these iconic characters.
Leila: I really loved the colourful set and costumes. I also really enjoyed all the songs sung by the amazing cast.
Maya: How the actors in the show embodied the characters well and the costumes were put together accurately. Every scene is thought out and practiced well.
Why should audiences come see the show?
Liam: Its funny in so many ways, and there’s so much unexpected moments and humour.
Olivia: You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is enthusiastic, fun loving, engaging performance that immerses audience enablers of all ages in an intriguing show. All 7 members of the of the cast have so much to offer.Their energy is unmatched, they bounce off of each other so easily.
Tess: Audiences should definitely come see this phenomenal production as it’s an extremely funny, uplifting show for all ages. There’s never a dull moment while watching this show as the cast puts their heart and soul into every minute of their performance.
Leila: The show is super hilarious and has really funny cast. The musical numbers are great and the dances are really funny!
Maya: It’s very entertaining, very put together and executed well. The songs are very catchy. The performance is very funny as well. The dedication to the character is amazing to watch and enjoy. It’s so cute how all the characters interact with each other. Each character is unique in their own quirky little way.
What did you like about the shows Lighting, Music, Costumes and Set/Props?
Liam: All the elements like music, props, set and costume matches together to form the theme and story in a really immersive and unique way. The set resembles school supplies and really matches the story, the props are well designed and used in so many ways. These small things really brings the show to life.
Olivia: The set is super bright and colourful but yet so simplistic and everything is multipurposeful. It feels like the characters are living in a pencil case.
Tess: An integral element which enhances the experience is the costume, as its been executed very accurately to the beloved comic characters. Another aspect which enhanced my experience was the lighting as it aided in conveying the emotions and highlighting characters personalities and individual moments. Finally the set was an amazing part of the show as it’s exceptionally creative and fun.
Leila: I enjoyed all the amazing songs! The props match the theme really well as well as the costumes, the backdrop is super awesome and cool.
Maya: the animated background, the costumes were very accurate and everything was very aesthetically pleasing.
Any other comments?
Liam: the show is told in a really different and engaging way. I would say it’s a very entertaining show to watch.
Tess: Loved it! Couldn’t look away. The show was amazing and it’s clear how much work was put into this production, it pays off.
Leila: the show was very interesting, I liked how there were little different stories in one big story.
