YPT is seeking an experienced performing arts tutor to join our theatre school teaching team. We are specifically looking for a DRAMA TUTOR available to teach Year 7 – 12 and a TAP/DANCE TUTOR available to teach experienced dancers Year 10 – Adult.
Availability
Drama candidates would ideally be available on Tuesday afternoons, with room to grow into other days.
Tap candidates would ideally be available on Monday afternoon and Tuesday evenings.
About YPT
YPT is a not-for-profit community arts organisation that has been creating ‘theatre for young people, by young people’ for 77 years. We currently run a program a 70 weekly classes in all styles of performing arts and provide a support and inclusive team for our tutors to collaborate and inspire the next generation of performing artists.
Ideal Candidates and Posistion
This role is suited to someone with prior teaching experience and a good working knowledge of the industry. The ideal applicant would have post school qualifications in drama or equivalent experience and teaching experience.The position requires an applicant at Senior Tutor Level, with the ability to plan and deliver age-appropriate content for class sizes up to 22 students. Senior Tutors are supported in class with a second tutor where appropriate to assist in delivering high quality lessons.

Employment
Successful applicants would be employed as a casual tutor in the YPT Theatre School and provided with a roster for Semester 1, 2026 – starting February. Pay rates available on request.
