Young People’s Theatre, Newcastle Icnc is seeking an experienced performing arts tutor to join our theatre school teaching team. We are specifically looking for a SINGING TUTOR available for Private Tuition in the YPT Theatre School.
About YPT
YPT is a not-for-profit community arts organisation that has been creating ‘theatre for young people, by young people’ for 77 years. We currently run a program a 70 weekly classes in all styles of performing arts and provide a support and inclusive team for our tutors to collaborate and inspire the next generation of performing artists.
Ideal Candidates
This role is suited to someone with prior singing teaching experience and a good working knowledge of the industry. The ideal applicant would have post school qualifications in singing or equivalent experience. The idea applicant is confident in planning and delivering high quality and individualised vocal tuition to school age students, prepare students for auditions and performances, select and guide on appropriate repetoire and guide students with safe vocal technique and good vocal health.
Posistion Available
We are seeking someone available for some of the following times:
- Monday 3:30pm – 7:30pm
- Tuesday 3:30pm – 7:00pm
- Thursday 3:30pm – 6:00pm
- Saturday 9:00am – 12:00pm
Note: Applicants are not required to be available for all of the times listed above. The number of days and hours is negotiable and will be determined based on the availability of both the tutor and the students.

Employment
Successful applicants would be employed as a casual tutor in the YPT Theatre School and provided with a roster for Semester 2, 2025 – starting July or pending applicant availability. Pay rates available on request.
